AGM of CARES held at DU

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Committee of Action for Research, Extension and Services (CARES) was held on Saturday at the Center for Advanced Research in Sciences (CARS) seminar room of Dhaka University (DU). DU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman inaugurated the programme as the chief guest.
Chairman of CARES Mohammad Shahjahan presided over the inaugural function while Chairman of Akij Expedition Ltd. Sheikh Aziz Uddin addressed it as special guest. General Secretary of CARES Prof Dr Md Mozammel Hoq gave vote of thanks.
Three distinguished founding members of CARES were accorded reception for their outstanding contributions to scientific research. Awardees are Dr Firdousi Qadri, Prof Dr Md Anwar Hossain and Prof Dr Haseena Khan.
DU VC Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman stressed the need for strengthening collaboration between academia and industry to reach the outcome of research to the footsteps of general people as well as achieve Sustainable Development Goals.
He called upon the researchers to conduct research for betterment of livelihoods of common people in the country.
