NILPHAMARI, Jan 28: Preparations for distribution of agri inputs support cards (AISC) has been completed in Nilphamari district.
One official said, Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) would distribute 1,20,000 cards in the district and the distribution would begin as the government directed.
The main purpose of distribution of such cards was to establish agriculture data base, specially on the total number of farmers and their cropping patterns. Against the backdrop DAE had already conducted a survey and prepared the list of farmers across the district, sources said.
DAE sources said, AIS cards would contain details about the extent of cropping lands, use of agricultural inputs like seed and fertiliser, amount of government subsidies payable and types of cultivated crops of an individual farmer and so on.
The cards will help government to systematically distribute subsidies and the inputs among the farmers and also to minimise irregularities whatsoever.
