Agri sector losses nearly 2.65m land in 11 years

A total of 26,55,731 acres of agricultural land have been transferred to non-agricultural uses in rural areas of the country in the past 11 years. In the same time, the total area of water bodies transferred to non-agricultural uses in the rural Bangladesh was 1,27,679 acres, Dr Abul Barkat, teacher of Department of Economics told a seminar in the CIRDAP auditorium in Dhaka on Wednesday, according to a news agency.
