Agri technology fair begins in Nilphamari

NILPHAMARI, Apr 17: The district agriculture technology fair started in Nilphamari recently, arranged by the Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) of Nilphamari district in district head office premises. In a simple ceremony the fair was opened by local MP Asaduzzaman Noor. Presided over by Deputy Director DAE Nilphamari Mamunur Rashid the opening ceremony was attended among others by acting DC Nilphamari Habibur Rahman, Municipality Mayor Dewan Kamal Ahamed and other dignitaries. Sources said thousands of farmers are visiting the fair everyday to be familiar with the technologies being demonstrated in the fair. There are 20 highly decorated stalls in the fair which were arranged by Upazila Offices of DAE and also by some NGOs. Different agro products, cage culture of fish, ribbon retting of jute, thrashing equipment of paddy, making of compost fertiliser are being demonstrated which created huge interest of the farmers. Thousands of enthusiastic farmers are visiting the fair form dawn to dusk everyday.
