The High Court (HC) on Monday allowed ailing Kazi Zafar Ahmed, chairman Jatiya Party (Z), to leave the country for three months to undergo medical treatment abroad. Responding to Kazi Zafar’s plea, an HC division bench comprising Justice Mohammad Abdul Hafiz and Justice M Ruhul Quddus passed the order. Advocate Khurshid Alam Khan representing the Anti Corruption Commission strongly opposed the move. Advocate Habibul Islam Bhuiyan appeared for the convict-petitioner. Kazi Zafar has been undergoing treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU) of United Hospital in the capital, according to his PS Golam Mostafa, said a news agency.
