Air Force clinch title beating Army

Bangladesh Air Force clinched the Walton Smart TV Victory-Day Volleyball title beating Bangladesh Army by straight 25-20, 25-23, 25-23 points in the final at Dhaka Volleyball Stadium Saturday, reports UNB.
Power Development Board (PDB) finished 3rd in the eight-team competition beating Bangladesh Navy by 25-19, 16-25, 25-21, 25-20 points. Newcomers BKSP received the "fair play trophy" as most disciplined team.
In an exhibition match on the eve of the men's final, Bangladesh National Women's Team (Red) beat Bangladesh Women's National Team (Green) by straight 3-1 sets at the same venue Saturday afternoon.
Three players of men's groups---Mamun of Air Force, Harjit of PDB and Jahangir of Army-awarded with Walton home appliances for their outstanding performances in the tournament.
Mamun of Air Force was adjudged as the best attacker, Harjid of PDB named as the most valuable player while and Jahangir of Army was adjudged the best booster of the tournament to receive Tk 2,000 each from the Bangladesh Volleyball Federation (BVF).
BVF President M Atiqul Islam, who is also the president of BGMEA, being introduced to the players of two finalists prior to the match while Chairman of the Tournament Committee FM Iqbal Bin Anwar distributed the prizes among the winners.
BVF vice president Mustafa Kamal and BVF general secretary Ashiqur Rahman Miku were also present on the occasion.
