Airtel, Teletalk to share infrastructure

Private mobile operator Airtel Bangladesh Limited has recently signed an agreement with state-owned operator Teletalk Bangladesh Limited on sharing infrastructure. Chris Tobit, CEO and Managing Director of Airtel Bangladesh Limited and Mujibur Rahman, Managing Director of Teletalk signed the  Memorandum of Understanding at Airtel Corporate Office at Banani in the city. Senior officials from both companies were present during the signing ceremony. This infrastructure sharing between Airtel and Teletalk will be another milestone for the telecom industry’s infrastructure sharing business, the operators said. This infrastructure sharing will enable Teletalk to utilise the passive infrastructure of Airtel across the country and will allow both the operators to be cost effective & competitive by increasing the utilisation of existing passive infrastructure at sites, according to a news agency.
