NILPHAMARI, May 6: Distribution of agriculture input support (AIS) cards has been completed in the district.
A total of 280,413 cards have been distributed among the farmers.
The Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) sources said the main objective of the project is to establish agriculture database, especially of the total number of farmers and their cropping patterns.
In this connection, the DAE had to conduct survey and prepare the list of farmers across the district.
According to the DAE sources, the AIS cards contains details about the extent of cropping lands, use of agriculture inputs like seeds and fertilisers, amount of government subsidies payable and types of cultivable crops of an individual farmer.
The cards would help government to distribute subsidies and other inputs among the farmers systematically and also to minimise irregularities in the sector, the DAE sources added.
