Akhter Hamed appointed as Grameen Bank MD

Sarder Akhter Hamed has been appointed as the Managing Director of Grameen Bank, says a statement.
Prior to his new role, he served as the Chief Operating Officer at Sajida Foundation.
Akhter Hamed, who did his Master's in Finance and Banking from Dhaka University, started off his career at British American Tobacco in 1995. In 2005, he joined BRAC Bank Limited. In 2015, he joined Bank Asia as Senior Executive Vice President. He was promoted to Deputy Managing Director in 2021.
Mr Hamed has extensive experience in managing MSME, retail, agriculture, and microfinance channel banking in various banks. He has been instrumental in expanding business operations.
