AKTEL offers tele-health service to customers

AKTEL customers will now get tele-health service. It launched the service in association with Japan-Bangladesh Friendship Medical Services Limited (JBFMS) for all its customers.

In this connection, an agreement was signed between AKTEL and JBFMS at AKTEL corporate office in the city Wednesday, said a press release.

Through this service all AKTEL customers will be able to get on-call health related service, medical advice and consultation from registered physicians over mobile phone just by dialing 10600 and the service will be available for 24 hours a day.

Electronic healthcare services will be gradually extended to 'on-call' pathology, health assistance, ambulance and doctors' appointment, nursing, virtual blood bank and blood bank information.

Health service through video conferencing and all other basic health check-up and services from one-stop service point will also be made available to customers.

With the objective of taking healthcare services to general people, AKTEL will introduce another short code, 10601. By calling this number (10601), unprivileged population like terminal farmers in the rural areas will be able to avail the basic health care services at a very affordable rate from any AKTEL connection.

AKTEL Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director Jefri Ahmad Tambi, CFO Nora Junita, Chief Commercial Officer Bidyut Kumar Basu, Head of Marketing Zafrul Hassan and Head of Corporate Affairs Javed Tariq, and JBFMS Chairman Dr Jonaid Shafiq and Managing Director Dr Sarder A Nayeem were present in the signing ceremony.
