AKTEL signs deal with three IGW operators

Axiata (Bangladesh) Ltd, widely known by its brand name AKTEL in the country, signed an overseas communication agreement with three international gateway (IGW) operators, namely Mir Telecom Ltd, Bangla Trac Communications Ltd, and Novotel Ltd at its corporate office in the city Monday.
As per the International Long Distance Telecommunications Services (ILDTS) Policy 2007 of Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC), the operators signed the agreement which will increase overseas facilities for AKTEL's valued customers and uphold subscribers' interest by providing low cost international telecommunication services.
Michael Kuehner, managing director and CEO of AKTEL, and Nasir Hossain, chairman of Mir Telecom Ltd, Tarique E Haque, managing director and CEO of Bangla Trac Ltd, and Faiz Khan, CEO of Novotel Ltd, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective companies.
Speaking on the occasion, Michael Kuehner said : "Through signing this agreement AKTEL will be able to provide best services to its customers by fully complying with the regulatory policy."
High officials from the companies were present at the signing ceremony, according to a press release.
