Aktel signs infrastructure sharing agreement with Warid

Bangladeshi mobile operators Axiata that uses the Aktel brand have signed an infrastructure sharing agreement with Warid Telecom, online information portal Telecompaper reported.
The agreement, in line with the sharing guidelines of the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC), allow both the operators to share tower spaces for setting up microwave and GSM antennas.
It also allows sharing land for setting up BTS rooms, electrical power and generator power sharing.
Warid Telecom is backed by the Abu Dhabi Group, one of the largest groups in the Middle East and in Pakistan. In Bangladesh, Warid Telecom commenced its operations in May 2007.
