AL activist chopped to death in Pabna

PABNA, Apr 27: A ward-level Awami League activist was chopped to death at Char-Ghoshpur village in Pabna Sadar upazila on Sunday night. Previous enmity might be the reason behind the murder.
The victim was identified as Md. Faridul Islam Farid, 30, son of Akbar Mondol of the village Ghoshpara in the district headquarter.
Officer-in-charge of Pabna Sadar police station Md. Ahsanul Haque said the assailants chopped Farid mercilessly in Sakan market area of the district headquarter at about 6.30pm.
In a critical condition as he was taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital he died on the way to Rajshahi at about 8.00pm.
"Out of the previous enmity, Farid was stabbed to death. Police is investigating the incident." the OC said. A case was filed with police over the incident.
