Says Chairman Khawaja Shahriar as bank steps into 30 years of operation

Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC Chairman Khawaja Shahriar said on Sunday the bank was playing an important role in the country's agriculture, economy, trade, industry and infrastructure development.
"We are happy to be a proud partner in the overall development and prosperity of the country," he said at an event held at the bank's head office, marking the bank's stepping into 30 years of operation, says the bank in a statement.
On the occasion, discussion and prayer sessions were organised at the bank's head office, all branches and sub-branches across the country.
Presided over by Managing Director and CEO Farman R. Chowdhury, directors Md. Shahin Ul Islam and Md. Abdul Wadud spoke on the occasion. Directors Professor Dr. Mohammed Abu Eusuf and Mohammad Asraful Hassan were also present at the event.
Deputy Managing Directors Syed Masudul Bari, Muhammed Nadim, Md. Fazlur Rahman Chowdhury, Md. Asaduzzaman Bhuiyan, Mohammed Hossain, departmental head and senior executives were present at the ceremony.
Senior executives of the bank, zonal heads, branch managers, sub-branch in-charges and others joined the event virtually.
Al-Arafah Islami Bank started banking operations on 27 September 1995. It is providing advanced banking services to customers through 225 branches, 72 sub-branches, 745 agent outlets, 225 ATM booths across the country. The total amount of bank deposit is Tk 515.30 billion (51,530 crore) (June'24) and the investment amount is Tk 465.61 billion (46,561 crore).
The total number of customers of the bank is 3.6 million (36 lakh), out of which there are more than 25 thousand investment clients.
Managing Director and CEO Farman R. Chowdhury said Al Arafah Islami Bank had been providing services to customers sincerely since its inception. Due to full trust of the customers towards the bank, AIB PLC has become one of the best Islamic banks in the country. He urged everyone to work sincerely so that the success of the bank continued.
