AL-backed mayoral candidates seek votes from people

Awami League-backed mayoral candidate of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Syed Khokon requested the voters on Friday to elect him mayor.
"I am a young man. I can work for you (voters). Please vote for me," he said to the voters while campaigning at New Market kitchen market on the day.
He distributed leaflets among the people and requested them to elect him by casting votes for hilsa fish. The DSCC and DNCC polls will be held on April 28.
Meanwhile, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD)-backed mayoral candidate for DSCC Md Shahidul Islam retreated from the race for extending his party's support to Syed Khokon. He was contesting the polls with the symbol bus. JSD is one of the parties of the ruling alliance.
Awami League-backed mayoral candidate of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Annisul Huq requested the voters to elect a person who is capable of serving the city dwellers.
He distributed leaflets to the voters and requested them for casting votes in favour of table watch symbol on April 28. He was accompanied by the party leaders and activists.
