AL became bankrupt after 2014: Mahfuj Alam

Information and Broadcasting Adviser Md Mahfuj Alam has said the Awami League (AL) faced political bankruptcy following the year 2014, reports BSS.
"Despite the party's large organisational structure, its internal strength has been severely undermined," he said this while speaking as the special guest at a book unveiling ceremony at a hotel in the capital on Tuesday.
In his speech, Mahfuj Alam acknowledged that the July Uprising presented a golden opportunity to implement meaningful reform.
However, he emphasised that promises of comprehensive change has been made and attempted by previous administrations, including those following the 1990 political change, and during the military-backed caretaker regime.
