AL-BNP-Jamaat clash leaves 21 injured

NATORE, Nov 6 (UNB): At least 21 people were injured in a clash between the activists of the Awami League (AL) and the BNP and Jamaat at Coinbazar in Baraigram Upazila Thursday morning.
Police and witnesses said the clash erupted when some local AL activists attacked the supporters of BNP and Jamaat following the election to the managing committee of Panchbaria High School in the morning.
The AL attackers also injured Jamaat worker Yazzar Ali, leaving him critically injured. He was rushed to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
Later, the BNP and Jamaat activists chased UP Chairman and AL leader Nawshad Ali Alfu but he managed to leave the scene.
At least 21 people were injured in chase and counter-chase between the feuding groups. The injured were admitted to Baraigram Health Complex and other local clinics.
On information, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control. Additional police have been deployed there to avert any unwanted situation.
