AL, BNP win 2 UZ chairmen posts each in Rangpur

RANGPUR, May 20 (BSS): Awami League (AL) and BNP candidates have won two posts of Upazila chairmen each in the elections held in four upazila parishads in the district Monday.
Returning Officer Md Shahidul Islam announced the unofficial results of Rangpur Sadar, Kawnia, Gangachhara and Pirgachha upazila parishad elections at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner separately  in the early hours of today.
According to the declared unofficial results, AL-supported candidate Nasima Zaman Bobby has won the post of Sadar upazila chairman bagging 15,548 votes. Her nearest rival BNP-supported Faruk Mian got 14,167 votes.
