AL expresses deep shock at huge loss of life, property in cyclone

Acting president of Awami League (AL) Zillur Rahman and acting general secretary Syed Ashraful Islam expressed their deep shock at the massive loss of lives and property in the powerful cyclone that hit the country's south and southwestern regions since Thursday midnight, reports UNB.
In a joint statement, the AL leaders also expressed their sympathy for the bereaved families and those who were injured during the storm.
They requested the Caretaker Government to take initiative for the families of the victims and give them adequate relief.
They also requested the leaders, activists and supporters of the party and its front organisations to stand by the people in their distress.
