AL factional clash leaves 15 people injured in Pabna

PABNA, Apr 16: At least 15 people were injured and several houses and shops were damaged as two rival groups of AL clashed over previous enmity and supremacy in Natiabari area under Bera upazila in Pabna on Thursday morning.
Police opened six rounds of bullets to take the situation under control, 13 people were arrested from the spot.
The clash was erupted between the president of Jatshakini union unit AL Fazlur Rahman and the member of same union committee Abu Bokkar over previous enmity.
Officer-in-charge of Aminpur police station Md. Jasim Uddin said Fazlu and Bokkar had a long-standing feud over the supremacy in the area and dispute over property.
Over the previous enmity, the supporters of both groups hurled brickbats at each other at Natiabari near the residence of Azizul Haque Arzu, lawmaker of Pabna-2 constituency at about 9 a.m.
Both groups locked in a clash with lethal weapons, hurled brick chips at each other for half an hour.
At least 15 people of the both groups got injured. At least 12 shops and five houses in the village damaged during the clash.
Of the injured Bokkar, Ratan were admitted to Bera upazila health complex.
"Police opened six round bullets to take the situation under control." Md. Jasim Uddin, Aminpur OC said adding that 13 people of the both groups were picked up from the spot.
