AL grassroots-level leaders select candidates for Rangpur

RANGPUR, Nov 12 (BSS): The grassroots level leaders of Awami League (AL) finalised the lists of its party candidates for six parliamentary seats in Rangpur for December 18 general elections through a series of extended meetings, party sources said here today.
The list of the candidates were prepared as per opinion of the grass-roots level leaders and sent the list to AL President Sheikh Hasina for its final approval and selection of the candidates for the six parliamentary constituencies in the district.
The lists include: AL central committee member Sharfuddin Ahmed Jhantu, AL leaders Majibar Rahman Pramanik and Anwarul Islam for Rangpur-1 (Gangachara) constituency and former state minister Anisul Haque Chowdhury, Biswanath Sarker Bitu, Barrister Moksedul and Golam Mostafa for Rangpur-2 constituency (Taraganj- Badarganj).
Convener of the district AL Abul Mansur Ahmed, AL leaders Mosaddek Hossain Bablu, Rafiqul Islam Dulal, Rezina Razzaque and Chowdhury Khalequzzaman for Rangpur-3 (Sadar) constituency and former BGMEA President Tipu Munshi and convener of the district Jubo League Mostafa Selim for Rangpur-4 (Pirgachha-Kawnia) constituency.
Treasurer of AL central committee and former state minister HN Ashiqur Rahman for Rangpur-5 (Mithapukur) constituency and AL President Sheikh Hasina for Rangpur-6 (Pirganj) parliamentary constituency, the AL sources said.
