AL infighting leaves Natore JL leader dead

NATORE, Nov 28 (UNB): A Jubo League (JL) leader was killed in a clash between two factions of local Awami League (AL) at Gopalpur Colony in Lalpur upazila on Wednesday morning.
The dead is Jaharul Islam (30), organising secretary of Lalpur thana unit Jubo League (JL) and a resident of the area.
Additional superintendent of Boraigram circle police Md Harun-ur-Rashid said supporters of Lalpur thana AL leader Firoz obstructed followers of Jaharul when they reached near North Bengal Sugar Mills, leading to a clash between the two groups.
At one stage, some activists of the rival group stabbed Jaharul, leaving him injured.
On information, police rescued Jaharul and had him admitted to Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
