The Supreme Court (SC) on Thursday trashed the graft case pending with the trial court against Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah, religious affairs secretary of the ruling Awami League (AL), as ‘being not pressed’. A three-member Appellate Division Bench, headed by Chief Justice Md Muzammel Hossain, passed the order as the ACC moved a plea of non-prosecution of the case. Emerging from the court, MA Aziz Khan, the counsel for the anti-graft watchdog, told reporters that following the apex court order the graft case accusing Abdullah of concealing information on his wealth amounting Tk over 4.2 million remained inoperative, according to a news agency.
