Monday, 24 March 2014

Bullet-riddled bodies of an Awami League (AL) leader of Kushtia district and an activist were recovered at Pangsha Upazila in Rajbari district on Monday. The dead are KM Mohabbat Hossain Dulal, 52. Both hailed from Shamspur village of Khoksa of Kushtia. Dulal was Khoksa Upazila unit AL joint secretary and Firoz an activist of the same unit. Locals noticed the bodies on Monday morning lying by the roadside at Bagbinjupur at Pangsha Upazila in Rajbari. Police recovered the bodies around 6am and identified them. Local AL leaders, too, went to the site of the crime. “Their mouths were sealed with tape. They were shot in the head,” Pangsha Police Station OC Abul Bashar said. Quoting Khoksa unit AL leaders, police said Dulal and Kamal were on their way back home from Shamspur Market on Sunday night. Police and locals said miscreants might have kidnapped them and shot them to death and dumped the bodies at Bagbinjupur, about 20 km away from a market at some time between early Monday and Monday morning, according to a news agency.
