AL leader arrested in Rangpur

RANGPUR, June 17 (BSS): Police have arrested banned Awami League (AL) leader Akhteruzzaman Bhutto in the murder case of auto-rickshaw driver Manik Mia, who was killed on July 18, 2024, during the anti-discrimination student movement in Rangpur city.
"We arrested AL leader Akhteruzzaman Bhutto, former Ward No 31 Rangpur City Corporation Councilor, in the city's Medical Mour area at 10:30 am on Tuesday," Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Tajhat Police Station Md Ataur Rahman said on Wednesday.
He also served as the Vice-president of Ward No 31 Awami League.
