AL leader found dead in Mymensingh

Police recovered the body of a local Awami League leader from a paddy field at Shahidnagar in Gafargaon Upazila of Mymensingh on Thursday. The dead is Abdul Majid, 60, president of Ward No. 4 of Shahidnagar union unit AL. Zahidul Islam, sub-inspector of Pagla Police Station in Gafargaon, said Majid went out of the house at about 10pm on Wednesday and did not returned since then. Locals spotted Majid's body in the paddy filed adjoining his house on Thursday morning and immediately informed police. Later, police recovered the body and sent it to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital for autopsy. Police suspected that miscreants might have killed Majid elsewhere and later dumped the body near his house. A case was filed, according to UNB.
