AL leader killed in Netrakona road crash

A local leader of Awami League was killed when a bus hit his motorcycle on Netrakona-Kalmakanda road at Nischintapur in Barhatta upazila on Wednesday. The victim was identified as Majibur Rahman, 40, general secretary of Raipur union unit of Awami League. Officer-in-charge of Kalmakanda Police Station Salemuzzaman said the accident took place in the area around 10am when a Netrakona-bound bus hit his bike while he was going to Kalmakanda. He died on the spot. Police recovered the body and sent it to Netrakona Modern Sadar Hospital morgue, according to UNB.
