AL leader Mukul Bose passes way

Mukul Bose, a member of the Advisory Committee of the ruling Awami League, passed away at a hospital in India on Saturday. He was 68, reports UNB.
Mukul had been suffering from different diseases and was initially admitted to a hospital in the Mohammadpur area in the capital.

He was later shifted to Apollo Hospital in the southern Indian city of Chennai, where he breathed his last around 5:20 am, said Awami League office secretary Barrister Biplab Barua.
Mukul is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed deep shock and sorrow at his death.
In a condolence message, she said Mukul Bose participated in the Liberation War responding to the call of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
"Later, he worked for implementing the spirit of the Liberation War and ideology of the Father of the Nation," she said.
She prayed for the peace of the departed soul and expressed sympathy to the bereaved family members.
