AL leader shot dead in city

A local Awami League leader has been gunned down shot at the city’s Agargaon on Saturday night. The dead is Jahangir Kabir, 45, son of M Mustafa of Pacshim Agargaon. Victim’s relative Abdul Gafur said Jahangir, president of Agargaon Taltola Mamota Bahumukhi Samabaya Samity, came under attack by two miscreants on his way back home at Shapla Housing around 11:00pm. The miscreants fired three shots at him near his residence, leaving him injured. Jahangir was taken to National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR), popularly known as Pangu Hospital, where doctors declared him dead around 11:45pm. The reason behind the killing could not yet be known, according to UNB.
