AL leader shot dead in Natore

NATORE, Jan 18, 2014 (BSS): A union parishad chairman and local unit Awami League (AL) leader was shot dead by some masked miscreants at Hajipukur area under Singra Upazila of the district today.
The deceased was identified as Fazlar Rahman Fanu (65), chairman of Kalam Union parishad, and UP AL president.
Shafiqul Islam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shingra thana, said a gang of miscreants fired at Fanu at around 12.30 pm while he was on way back home from the upazila headquarters on his motorcycle.
He was rushed to Sadar Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.
The body was sent to the hospital morgue for autopsy.
Local police is investigating into the killing incident, OC Shafiqul Islam added.
