AL man gunned down in Laxmipur

An activist of local Awami League unit was gunned down by unidentified miscreants at Laxmipur Sadar Upazila on Saturday. The dead is Ahsan Ullah, son of Sultan Ahmed of Nandigram village. Wahiduzzaman, in-charge of Dattapara police camp, said the miscreants fired several gunshots at Ahsan early in the morning on his way back home from Poddar Bazar, leaving him injured critically. Locals took him to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injures. Informed, police recovered the body and sent it to Laxmipur Sadar Hospital for autopsy. Amir Hossain, president of Awami League Bashikpur union unit, said Ahsan was a member of Nandigram ward unit of the ruling party, according to UNB.
