GOPALGANJ, Nov 6 (bdnews24.com): Awami League (AL) activists Saturday vandalised the district Youth Development Directorate office as their preferred candidates were left out.
Awami Juba League and Bangladesh Chhatra League cadres went on rampage and vandalised the windowpanes and furniture of the office under Kashiani Upazila.
AL's social welfare secretary of Kashiani Upazila unit Sarafat Hossain Lavlu Mridha, led the attack, said a directorate official Sayad Uddin.
He also claimed that Mridha beat him up as he protested the vandalism. The police later saved him.
Mr Uddin told the news agency, "Mridha was agitated as his followers were not chosen as apprentices in the second shift of the national service programme."
