AL MP Prof Akbar passes away

MAGURA, Mar 10: Lawmaker of Magura-1 constituency and newly made president of Magura district unit Awami League (AL) Prof Dr Prof Muhammad Serajul Akbar died of cardiac arrest on Monday night at NICVD (National Institute of Cardio Vascular Diseases). He was 78.
Prof Akbar was also the chairman of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society.
He left behind his wife, two daughters and a number of well-wishers and friends to mourn his death.
UNB report adds: The first namaz-e-janaza of Awami League (AL) lawmaker Prof Dr Muhammad Serajul Akbar was held on the South Plaza of Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban Tuesday afternoon.
After the janaza, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid homage to the late ruling party MP and eminent child specialist by placing a wreath at the coffin.
