AL observes 3-day mourning

Awami League (AL) and its front organisations observed the three-day programmes in a befitting manner to mourn the death of noted nuclear scientist and Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina's husband Dr MA Wazed Miah across the country, report agencies.
BSS from Rangpur adds: The district and upazila units of AL and its front organisations organised mourning meetings, milad and doa mahfils and offered special prayers seeking eternal peace for the departed soul of Dr Wazed Miah on Wednesday last.
The national and party flags were kept at half-mast at all offices of AL and its front organisations in Rangpur and other seven upazila headquarters in the district and leaders and workers of the party and front organisations wore black badges.
A joint mourning meeting was organised on the last day Wednesday at district AL office in Betpotti area in the city by district AL and its front organisations with convener of district unit of AL Abul Mansur Ahmed in the chair.
Senior AL leaders Advocate Rezaul Karim Raju, Mosaddek Hossain Bablu, Advocate Elias Ahmed, Advocate Dilshad Islam Mukul, Shameem Talukder and Tushar Kanti Mandal, among others, addressed it.
