Awami League (AL) top order rebutted the reports about telephone conversation between the two beleaguered former prime ministers -- Sheikh Hasina and Khaleda Zia -- and dismissed such camaraderie in the future as well, reports UNB.
"Some newspapers published the report to increase their sales," AL presidium member Sajeda Chowdhury told reporters outside the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum Monday.
Sajeda also dismissed any possibility of such phone conversation between the two leaders in future.
She pointed out that religious extremism had surfaced during the rule of the 4-party alliance government. She questioned how Jamaat Secretary General Ali Ahsan Mujahid was allowed to go abroad despite murder and extortion cases against him.
In reply to a question, she said Sheikh Hasina went to the Bangabandu Museum to prepare a statement on earning and expenditure of the Bangabandhu Foundation as the Anti-Corruption Commission wanted to know about it.
