AL show causes Latif

The Awami League has issued a show cause notice to Abdul Latif Siddiqui asking him to explain why he should not lose his primary membership of the party. The AL's Deputy Office Secretary Mrinal Kanti Das said that Siddiqui has been also informed about the decision to drop him from the party's policy-making Presidium. The show cause notice has been sent to Siddiqui's permanent address in Tangail's Kalihati Upazila by registered post from Dhaka's Jigatala post office on Tuesday, he said. Now in Kolkata, Latif Siddiqui said he will reply to the show-cause ‘as and when I get it and within the time limit mentioned’. The letter mentions his controversial remarks over Holy Hajj and Tabligh which he made at a programme in New York on Sept 20, according to bdnews24.com.
