AL submits amended constitution

The ruling political party Awami League (AL) has submitted its amended constitution to the Election Commission (EC) after dropping the name of Swadhinata Chikitsak Parisad as an associate body and revising its section on foreign chapters to comply with electoral law, reports bdnews24.com.
Central committee Member Aminul Islam told the news agency Sunday, "Swadinata Chikitsak Parisad will remain an independent organisation from now on."
Bangladesh Mohila Awami League, Bangladesh Krishik League, Bangladesh Awami Jubo League, Awami Swecchasebok League, Awami Ainjibi Parisad, Bangladesh Tanti League and Bangladesh Jubo Mohila League would remain associate bodies of AL, he added.
He said Jatiya Sramik League and Bangladesh Chhatra League would follow their respective constitutions.
Bangladeshi expatriates who support the AL could form organisations according to the laws of their respective countries, said Mr Islam.
