AL urges activists to strengthen organisational activities

RANGPUR, April 17 (BSS): Leaders of Awami League (AL) and its front organisations here last night urged their leaders and activists to strengthen organisational activities, remain united and work selflessly for the welfare of the people.
They said this at a meeting organised by Mortuza Ahmed Smriti Parishad (MASP) commemorating the 4th death anniversary of former member of the central committees of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) and Awami Jubo League Mortuza Ahmed at Shilpakala Academy auditorium.
Former state minister and treasurer of AL central committee HN Ashiqur Rahman MP, addressed as the chief guest with convener of MASP and AL leader Shameem Talukder in the chair.
Acting president of Ganotantri party Mohammad Afzal, former lawmaker Shah Abdur Razzaque, freedom fighter Anisul Haque Peyara, president of district Mohila AL Safia Khanom, Mithapukur Upazila chairman Zakir Hossain, Mortuza's father Mansur Ahmed and Mortuza's widow were present as special guests.
In his speech, HN Ashiqur Rahman termed late Mortuza Ahmed as a symbol of ideal young leader with efficient leadership, dedicated political courage, vision and instant organising capacities and conveyed his heart-felt honour to the deeds of the late young leader.
He asked the leaders and workers of AL and its front organisations to follow the ideals and organising capabilities of late Mortuza, who worked selflessly as a real believer of the ideals of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, in building a Sonar Bangla as dreamt by Bangabandhu.
"The ideals, beliefs and deeds of Mortuza should be followed by all of us as those will be the main inspirations and basis for successes in materializing the charter of changes programme by the present government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina," he added.
