Alal released from jail

BNP leader Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal has been released from jail after he secured bail in a case of attempted violence before a shutdown. Authorities at Dhaka Central Jail-1 at Gazipur’s Kashimpur released the party's youth affiliate chief around 11am on Friday, Jailor Md Amzad Hossain Don said. Alal along with 62 Juba Dal activists were arrested during a meeting from his home at Dhaka's Mohammadpur area on Oct 25. Juba Dal is the youth front of the BNP. Police pressed charges of planning for violent activities on them a day ahead the strike called by a coalition of Islamist groups, ‘Sammilito Islami Dal-Samuho’, the arrest of former minister Abdul Latif Siddique. On Nov 17, the High Court granted bail for the BNP leader, according to bdnews24.com.
