Alauddin Majid new chairman of BASIC Bank

BASIC Bank’s former Managing Director Alauddin A Majid has been appointed the new chairman of the graft-hit bank. The finance ministry issued a circular to this effect on Sunday. Another circular dissolved the bank’s board. On Saturday, Finance Minister AMA Muhith said a ‘renowned banker’ would be brought in to head BASIC Bank. Majid himself confirmed his appointment to the media on Sunday. He is currently the chairman of the state-owned Bangladesh Krishi Bank (BKB), according to bdnews24.com.
