Albania keen to expand ties with Bangladesh

DAKAR, Mar 15 (UNB): Albania has expressed its keen interest to expand relations with Bangladesh as it is a key partner of the EU.
Albanian Foreign Minister Lulzim Bahsa expressed the willingness when he met with Foreign Affairs Adviser Dr Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury here Friday on the sidelines of the 11th OIC Summit.
The Albanian foreign minister observed that Albania was a European Union (EU) country and since Bangladesh was also a key partner of the EU, there would be possibilities for cooperation between the two countries, especially also when both were in the OIC.
Foreign Minister Bahsa also stated that they would soon initiate steps to accredit their mission in Kuala Lumpur to cover Bangladesh.
Iftekhar Ahmed apprised the Albanian foreign minister of the current stability and reforms in Bangladesh that have created "great possibilities" for this Asian nation of over 145 million Muslims.
During the meeting, the two leaders also reviewed the situation in the Balkans including that of Kosovo.
