All asked to preserve heritage to brighten country's image abroad

State Minister for Housing and Public Works Advocate Abdul Mannan Khan Monday urged all to preserve the heritage and tradition to brighten the country's image abroad, reports BSS.

The State Minister made the appeal while speaking as the chief guest at a meeting at Public Works Department in the city Monday. The Minister also inspected the ongoing activities of the ministry.

The Minister said there might have some differences of opinion but the people must work for the country's development in a coordinated manner.

With chief engineer of the public works department Engineer Abdullah Al Safi in the chair, the function was attended, among others, by Public Works Secretary Dr Nasiruddin Ahmed and ASM Ismail of the Department of Architecture.

Meeting sources said nearly 600 engineers and 1,161 sub-assistant engineers along with 18,000 skilled persons have been involved in construction of government buildings across the country.
