All educational institutions to remain shut for five days

All educational institutions across the country will remain closed for five consecutive days from February 11 to 15 due to the 13th parliamentary elections, referendum, and the Maha Shivaratri holiday.
According to a government decision, holidays have been declared on February 11 and 12 to facilitate the elections.
February 13 and 14 fall on Friday and Saturday, which are regular weekly holidays.
In addition, educational institutions will remain closed on February 15 in observance of Maha Shivaratri, as listed in the official academic holiday calendar.
The national parliamentary elections and referendum are scheduled to be held on February 12.
Earlier, the government issued an executive order declaring public holidays on February 11, the day before the polls, and February 12, the elections day. A special holiday has also been declared on Tuesday, February 10, for workers and employees in industrial areas.
A gazette notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on January 25 stated that, in line with the decision of the Advisory Council meeting, government holidays will be observed nationwide on Wednesday, February 11, and Thursday, February 12.
The holidays will apply to officials and employees of government, semi-government, autonomous, and private offices, as well as teachers and staff of both government and private educational institutions, to ensure their participation in the elections.
