RAJSHAHI, Dec 21: Academic and administrative activities of the Rajshahi University (RU) came to a standstill Sunday following the second day of the controversially-appointed fourth-class employee's indefinite strike on the campus demanding regularisation of their jobs.
Earlier, about 200 'controversially-appointed' fourth-class employees of RU enforced an indefinite strike on the campus from Saturday demanding their jobs to be confirmed.
No scheduled classes and examinations were held Saturday on the campus and all administrative activities came to a halt following the continued strike.
Meanwhile, RU authorities held an emergency academic committee meeting at RU VC Bhaban where its acting VC Prof Mamnunul Keramat was in the chair.
The academic committee postponed all scheduled examinations until December 31.
