All eyes on Tigers at Canberra today

Bangladesh open their ICC World Cup 2015 campaign against the minnows, Afghanistan today (Wednesday) at the Manuka Oval in Canberra at 9.30 am (BD time). This would be the first encounter between both the teams in a World Cup as it is Afghanistan's first ever appearance in the mega event, according to Internet report.
Bangladesh would be looking to impress in this World Cup after causing a couple of upsets in the previous two editions of the mega event in the form of India, South Africa and England as well. Although minnows themselves, they could well turn out to be the dark horse of the event as they have quite a good number of players in the form of Shakib-al-Hasan, Tamim Iqbal and many more.
Afghanistan, on the other hand, would too look to cause an upset and create an impact in the mega event. Having qualified the tournament in a good fashion, they are a team to watch out for and have some good players that could well create an impact.
The focal point of Bangladesh's campaign will be the skilful 27-year-old all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, who has been the team's mainstay ever since his international debut eight years ago.
The left-hand batsman and left-arm spinner goes into his third World Cup as the ICC top-ranked all-rounder in all three formats.
Shakib is the only player in the team who has experienced Australian conditions recently, having turned out for Melbourne Renegades in the Big Bash Twenty20 tournament.
Another player to watch is 22-year-old left-arm spinner Taijul Islam, who grabbed eight for 39 against Zimbabwe in Dhaka in only his third Test to record the best Test figures ever by a Bangladeshi bowler.
