All govt staff in Dhaka to be brought under housing facilities

State Minister for Housing and Public Works Advocate Abdul Mannan Khan Thursday told the Parliament that the government has undertaken a plan to provide accommodation facilities to all government officials and employees working in the city, reports BSS. Responding to a supplementary raised by treasury bench member Md Shahriar Alam, the State Minister said the number of government officials and employees working in the capital is about 0.3 million. But, he said, only 13,000 officials and employees that means 4.32 per cent are now enjoying government housing facilities. He said Rajdhani Unnayan Katripakkha (RAJUK) has been setting up planned housing projects to solve housing problems in the capital. Of them, the mentionable projects are Purbachal New Town Project, Uttara Third Phase Housing Project and Jhilmil Project, he said.
