All-out cooperation to boost Islami banking pledged

A five-member delegation of Central Shariah Board of Islami Banks called on President Iajuddin Ahmed at the Bangabhaban in the city Tuesday, reports UNB.
The delegation members, led by Chairman of the Shariah Board and Khatib of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Maulana Obaidul Haque, apprised the President of the board's activities.
They also informed the President that 15 banks of the country were offering Islamic banking guided by the Shariah Board.
The President gave them a patient hearing and assured them of all possible cooperation.
Former vice-chancellor of the Islamic University M Mustafizur Rahman, former secretary Shah Abdul Hannan, Chairman of Dhaka Bank M Azizul Huq and Member of the Shariah Board M Mukhlesur Rahman were other the delegation members.
Military Secretary to the President Major General M Aminul Karim, President's Secretary Sirajul Islam and Press Secretary Abdul Awal were present.
