All-religion prayer meeting held marking Nat\\\'l Mourning Day

An all-religion prayer meeting was held on Saturday in the city seeking salvation of the departed souls of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family members on the occasion of National Mourning Day.
Sangbadik Samaj, a platform of journalists, on arranged the prayer meeting at the Jatiya Press Club, UNB reported.
At the prayer meeting, verses from the holly books -- Quran, Bible, Tripitaka and Gita -- were recited.
Participants observed a one-minute of silence to commemorate the father of nation and his family members and relatives who were brutally killed at the crack of dawn on August 15, 1975.
Senior journalists Farid Hossain, Faruk Quazi and Shyamal Dutta, and Hindu-Buddhist-Christian Oikya Parishad leader Ushaton Talukder MP, among others, attended the prayer meeting, presided over by Sangbadik Samaj convener Ataur Rahman.
