There was an easier tone in the week's sale following less interest from all sections of the market. Pakistan buyers operated for clean good liquoring varieties particularly the Brokens whilst Internal Blenders and Packeters lent a fair support. Loose tea buyers were less active. As a result, a fair weight to tea remained unsold and prices declined for all varieties. Good liquoring Dusts continued to sell quite well at firm rates.
CTC LEAF: 27,484 packages and (560 packages of Old Season) met less demand and prices were easier all around.
BROKENS: Well made Brokens met with a fairly good demand but prices were easier often by Tk 2.00 to Tk 4.00 and these sold between Tk 84 and Tk 86. Other varieties were also an easier market following quality.
FANNINGS: Well made liquoring Fannings met with a fairly good demand and prices were easier by Tk 2.00 to Tk 3.00 and these ranged between Tk 81.50 and Tk 84. Other varieties were also easier shedding upto Tk 2.00 to Tk 3.00 and often more following quality.
CTC DUST: 4,330 packages and (215 packages of old Season) on offer met with quote a good demand but at easier rates. Select few lines of well made good liquoring types sold well at firm to dearer rates. All others were easier by Tk 3.00 to Tk 5.00 in line with quality. CDs were a lower market with some withdrawans. Belenders were fairly active with fair interest from the Loose tea buyers.
