All is set to celebrate the textbook festival in the country on the New Year’s Day (January 1, 2015). The book festival will be celebrated in all primary and secondary schools and madrasas across Bangladesh. Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid made the announcement while addressing a review-meeting at National Curriculum and Text Board (NCTB) in the city with its officials. Education Secretary Nazrul Islam Khan and NCTB Chairman Professor Abul Qusem were present, among others. Nahid said that text books for the 2015 academic year have been sent to all Union Parishada (UP) and Upazilas throughout the country by December 29. He cautioned that negligence in reaching the books to every student of the educational institutions will not be tolerated and warned action will be taken against those officials or employees and teachers who would be found guilty, according to a news agency.
